Hey, all!!

While sitting on the plane, as I am now, on a flight to Toronto for a show tomorrow night in Oshawa at Durham College, I can’t help but think of the events of this week. I’m not talking about what I have done or anything that has happened to me but about the catastrophe that has occurred in Haiti.

Canada holds a close connection to Haiti. For one, we have many former residents of that diminutive country who now call Canada home. In the hopes of looking for a better life for themselves, they reluctantly left their birth country for Canada. As well as there are many Canadian residents down there, who were already there before the earthquake and subsequent terrible aftermath, for numerous reasons. Whether it’s teaching in schools or as humanitarians, including students from many Canadian schools (one from Nelson, B.C. that I am watching right now be evacuated by the Canadian military) to help with feeding the poor and homeless or as part of a mission on behalf of their church or sect.

On behalf of myself, and the rest of the crew, our hearts pour for all those who have lost loved ones and those whom are still affected directly by this horrible occurrence.

Now, with this week’s devastation in their country Haitians need help more than ever before as Haiti is an impoverished nation with almost 80% of its inhabitants poverty-stricken already before this tragedy.

Please help where you can in giving to the Red Cross, Unisef or any other organization that is a part of the relief effort in Haiti. Any bit of help is just that; help.

Although our thoughts and prayers are with those in Haiti, we have not lost focus on our job at hand. Tomorrow is going to be a great show where we are going to be playing in “The ‘Shwa” along with local acts Michelle Alexander and a great new band called The Ocean Buried who will be opening the show up.

It feels like it’s been a long time since we were in Ontario last and is ALWAYS a total blast so, needless to say, we are really looking forward to our first of MANY shows this year in our country’s largest province.

Look for many, many more dates being finalized for this year in the coming months. Keep in mind they’ll be in between recording the new record so it’s going to be an incredibly busy start of the year for us. We’re going to play in every province at least once it looks like this year so I get to hang out with all of you at the very least one time in 2010!!!

See you all real soon!

Aaron
