Acoustic Shows
February 09, 2009

So... After what feels like an eternity off, we finally had the chance to do some shows!! Albeit, they were acoustic and not the full 7 piece band show, they were nonetheless a real great time!!

Myself, Mitch and Jay Buettner flew into Edmonton, met up with Carmen and started off to travel a few hours east to Lloydminster, AB/SK for a show at a venue called the Vic Juba Theatre. The place was packed and what people got from us was exactly what they expected, an acoustic show with story telling.

They got to hear about how some of the songs were written, inspiration for those songs and the fact that sometimes it doesn't take as long as you think to write. I love shows like that. Mainly because I like to talk but almost as much because they get to see a new side of me, a new edge.

I have to mention that we brought a little guy named Derek up on stage to sing along on Hold My Beer and the boy did a great job! That little 6 year old is the future of Canadian music! Thanks for doing some awesome singing, Derek!

Last night we were in Drayton Valley, AB which is about an hour and a half west of Edmonton. They put a great deal together because they not only had the show but it was set up for a really great dinner first and then the show. Wonderful people at the Max Centre and again a great stage and venue all around! Thanks to Michelle for all her help at the Max!
I still long to do the big full-band show though, and that is coming up later this week. Friday the 13th, no less at the Cascades Casino in Langley, BC. The town I called home for a long time.

I truly hope you and your friends, family and acquaintances get a chance to come to one of my shows this year, as I know it is going to be the best one yet for me!!
I've got to mention that the soundman, Rob Esch, that came out with us on the acoustic "Stripped" tour did an awesome job and was a great hang. Thanks, Rob! You rocked AND countried!

Well, I suppose we'll see you at a show soon and if not then you better have a great excuse!!

Thank you all!
